Pok Pok LA in Chinatown

Artist Marshall Astor told me that this restaurant, originally from Portland, had the best Papaya Salad he had outside of Thailand but when they first opened Pok Pok Pad Thai (several blocks south of this location), they didn't have it on the menu. The staff said they would have it when they open the restaurant. Well, I've been twice now and it's a wonderful place. The Pok Pok special includes the papaya salad and an amazing roasted duck. The scotch selection is awesome and there's a bar upstairs. The second time, I went with artist Patricia Fernandez and I ordered the spicy fried chicken, which was over the top.
